Walking around Lake Ella this morning, just before dawn, I noticed a lot of fresh new ducklings. There’s usually two rounds of duckling surges over the summer, but I suspect given that this is happening on the cusp of August, that we’ll likely have a third surge in late September. Likely due to the wild weather, which has been super hot and fairly damp for the past two months.
I’m so over summer. Argh.
But things are still growing and being pretty, so that’s something, I guess:
Writing this late as my whole day started late because…no reason at all. I was just feeling leisurely and while we got out early enough I otherwise just took things easy. Savored my morning tea. Enjoyed a long-overdue phone call the catch up with a friend. Fixed more tea. Some days were just meant to be done at an easy pace, I think.
