As suspected, yesterday’s Windows update took over an hour! But now we’re flying along again.
Suffering from a hard headache this morning, which I suspect is weather/sinus related. I have once again gone on my annual sprint dosage of flonase in addition to my forever-daily Claritin pill (I have quite literally been on Claritin since it was released as prescription-only in 1993. There were a few years before it went OTC where I didn’t have prescriptions for it and legit went blackmarket to get it; it is the best antihistamine-type drug I’ve ever used and I suspect I’ll stay on it until I die or move out of Florida, whichever comes first).
It was a moody and cloudy Sunday morning, and since I was (am) not feeling great we did not go on an extended long walk, just a normal longer walk. Keely was feeling her oats and decided to cut over to Thomasville road up to 3rd Ave. instead of cutting through the parking lots as we usually do. Was she tracking something, or simply bored of routine?
I took this photo somewhere along Duval as we headed back northbound. It is, believe or not, a color photograph. That’s just how grey a day it is!
I have a fascination with utility lines, which I think are beautiful in a very punk way, not unlike Brutalist architecture. There is no apology here for the pragmatism, just lines slung in any way that hangs. I’d love to paint pictures like these, to add texture to the flow and connections. These haphazard, barely maintained lines pin our society together, or at least, have done so for over 100 years now. Wireless is the future, and someday this will be as much as an anachronism as a telegraph machine, but in this time of transition they still cling to relevance.
