Today is brought to you by the letter “H”: heat, humidity, and hell:
Yes, that’s right, it felt like 92°F at 8:30 am. Although to be fair, the humidity is unusually low: 65%. Which is one reason the temp is forecast to go to 104°F, which means the heat index will be AT LEAST 110°F, and the fire risk is very high. Wheeeee.
So the urgency to get the walk done early was real, and we rolled out of the house, both of us squinting into the darkness, at 6:00 AM. It was already 78°F by then, but the lower humidity meant we were not melting into the sidewalk.
Keely will be home alone for most of the day as it is co-working day, so Gina is already en route to pick me up. I like getting out of the house at least once a week; I don’t really go anywhere else, because 1) Pandemic is a thing and 2) money is tight. So this is a bit of a treat! I’m keeping all the blinds drawn and I’ve put out her cooling gel mat in the darkened bedroom, and set the A/C on 78°F, so hopefully she won’t be too uncomfortable.
