dawn at Lake Ella

7/14/2022 – Thursday

Brain was whirring last night in a kind of neutral way — not anxiety, not productivity — so didn’t get to sleep until 11:00 pm! I was SO tired! Insomnia is not my usual gig and I was not appreciative. 😒

Nonetheless we got out before 7:00 am for Keely’s walk, because she was tired of waiting for me. It was a typical summer morning, about 78°F with 94% humidity…in other words, dank. There are major storms forecast for later today, but as I’ve mentioned before, forecasts lately have been more “miss” and less “hit” so we’ll see.

One thing I noticed that was mildly enraging is that the bench at the bus stop in front of the cottages has been removed. Another anti-homeless measure that makes life miserable for all citizens but especially for poor people. The NIMBY assholes who support those measures honestly need to be stripped of everything they own and forced to live on the street for at least six months. If that sounds aggressive on my part, well, too bad. Republicans have been playing hardball for decades and they need their nose shoved in the shit they’ve created, as clearly they have no self-generated compassion or intelligence to work with.

In other news, the old Henry’s Radiator shop still hasn’t sold, which is mystifying to me as it is a fantastic location in Midtown. It’s an odd footprint of a site, admittedly, and maybe the asking price is high? Dunno. Half the ancient sign fell down a while ago, but light was good so I nabbed this nice “urban decay” photo of it:
