dawn at Lake Ella

8/25/2022 – Thursday

I’m stewing in a miasma of fatigue and sadness, but honestly, what else is new? Every day is a NEW day and I’m going to focus on that.

We got out early but it was already 76°F and 96% humidity by 6:30 am, and I’m so OVER summer. UGH. Keely was very keen on sniffing around, but I don’t think she was fox-chasing, mostly just tracking other dogs (I assume). Fallen branches continue to intrigue her, I assume because they smell like birds and squirrels? But she will totally body a fallen branch, so I’m glad I’ve got a flea/tick collar on her!

I’m not sure what’s up with Midtown Caboose. This sign? Doesn’t make sense? Much confusion. Unless it’s an “in” joke I’m not in on? (Wouldn’t be surprised!)

There were a few people around Lake Ella, and Leon’s Kitchen is really making the area around his cottage super pretty with all the new plants and landscaping. He’s mostly doing catering out of it, from what I can tell, and I wonder if he still plans to open a café there. Not much other goings on with the cottages. It’s been a peaceful summer after a wild two years.
