A rather beautiful but balmy day for winter, I suppose! Temps were about 65°F, and humidity at a very common 95%. I waited until 7:00 am to get us out the door for a walk, and even then neither Keely nor I were very awake. Drowsy weather all ’round, I think. But still, a nice dawn:
I notice that the old Sonic is still just closed, with no signs announcing a sale of the property or anything else of note. The kitchen area is in the same exact disarray it was in the day it closed, included many items knocked over or pushed around, down to the old mop bucket on its side by the door. I’m very curious about what is in store next for that space…it occurred to me that I don’t even remember what was there before the Sonic! Hmmm…
The Farms Store-that-may-never-be is also still in stasis. While it seems that it is not being used as a storage unit for VinoBeano anymore, nothing of note has been added or improved on the property.
Tallulah CBD shop in the old Sōdough place at 6th and Thomasville has finally opened for regular hours (it was open on-and-off through the holiday) and is doing very well from what I can tell.
The big news is that all the reconstruction at the old Bamboo House site is nearly done, and I suppose Mid-Town Pies will be moving there soon (at least, that’s what I’m told will happen). They had to gut the electric and most of the plumbing, so that’s been interesting to watch, but they have now replaced the front windows and put in dining booths/tables. I’m sure the owners are looking forward to this stage being over, it’s been going on for over a year now!
