It’s 11:40 am and I usually try to write these updates before 10 am, oh ooooops! In my defense it was a cold slog to work this morning (I’m so tired of riding the bus every day) and then my email inbox doubled while I was out on Friday and…yeah. Monday.

It was not below freezing when Keely and I went for a walk at 6 am, but it was in the mid-30s°F which is more than cold enough, thankee. Keely enjoyed it, at least, and I think picked up on The Vile Fox Nemesis halfway through, skipping back and forth everywhere with her nose to the ground while I stumbled behind her.
The guy who does maintenance on the Cottages completely shocked me by wishing me a good morning. In the 10+ years I’ve been walking around this park at the crack of dawn, we’ve acknowledged each other with stoic head-nods and occasional hand-waves. There was no build up to this change of routine and he did not seem to find it as peculiar as I did, so I hope I wished him good morning in return but I’m not entirely sure I did!
Later I rushed down to Publix to grab some food to have for lunch, and caught the hint of dawn over the parking lot in very Maxfield Parrish-esque colors:
