Ahhh, it was SO cool out this morning! Literally! It was about 63°F when we headed out around 5:30 am…early because as soon as my daylight alarm went off, Keely belly flopped on me and demanded to go for a walk. The joys of dog ownership!
There was a little bit of wind, though, stirring up the pond and sending all the waterfowl to the shore. Keely was a bit more animated as well, bouncing back and forth across the sidewalk as she tracked down all the scents left for her.
The Golden Corral still has “open soon!” on their sign, but no date. (While Tallahassee still has a mask ordinance in place, the restaurants are allowed to fill back up to max capacity and, honestly, people never took the mask ordinance seriously anyway, so the 30% of the population who are god damn idiotic selfish brats are filling up the seats.)
But what is “normal”, anymore? Just opening back up? Most of us are still reading actual not-fake news and know the dangers are real, not just for ourselves but our loved ones.
Anyway, all of those thoughts were distant from my mind during the peaceful, dark, quiet go-round of the morning walk. I listened to music and let Keely steer me around.
Sometimes that’s enough.
