Another autumnal morning, cool and brisk and lovely!
Keely and I were out by around 6:30 am, a bit before dawn but close enough to watch it rise over the city as we meandered around. Keely took her usual route over the 3rd, then went north up Monroe. She reversed our usual run around the Publix Plaza but cutting through the Sonic parking lot over to Publix and then headed south on Duval.
Duval on this curve between Tharpe and 7th is truly a lovely stretch of road, the Tallahassee classic canopy road — the main drawback being the sidewalk, which is minuscule. I dread meeting another walker or worse, bike rider on that section of our walk, because there is just no room to maneuver. There is a guard rail that separates the sidewalk from traffic, so it’s not like you can cross the street if someone and their big dog is coming toward you.
Fortunately we walk so early on the weekend that we rarely deal with it. But it is one reason I don’t walk that route during weekdays.
Along the way I saw this, and I guess it’s great news that the pandemic is finally over, huh? /sarcasm
Of course it’s not over and I do sympathize with business owners frantic to stay afloat but our government has bungled this in so many ways, it is hard not to be bitter and cynical about it.
