It is a gray and blustery morning as we wait for the remains of Hurricane Nicole to pass us by. While we desperately need the rain, I would like to note for the record that our preferences are for regularly recurring low-grade thunderstorms, not high-intensity catastrophic rain dumps once a month.
I got Keely up early and we were out by 6:00 am, not because of fear of rain (which isn’t hitting until later) but because I also needed to get to the store as well before the storm sweeps over us. Done and done! I needed a supply run to buy some medi-wrap for my left arm; I either over-extended the elbow, or smashed it against something hard. Either way I don’t remember injuring it, I am simply suffering the after-effect of the injury. Using it too much hurts and I’m sure is preventing healing, but alas while I am somewhat ambidextrous, my left hand is definitely dominant.
Today’s photo is a real throwback, something that fell out of a book I was packing:
I basically grew up in that bookstore, back in the late 1970s. My mother, who was wrestling with her queerness, I think had a crush on the owner! But whatever the case, Full Circle Books was a safe place for me for years. To this day I can draw you a layout of the store’s last location (it moved at least once, as I remember). I do not know which location this was…hmmmmm…
