dawn at Lake Ella

11/24/2022 – Thanksgiving Thursday

For all of us in the USA, today is Thanksgiving, an official federal holiday that you probably already know involves visiting friends & family and (traditionally) eating a big ol’ turkey. Poor turkeys.

Which always puts me in mind of…

CINCINNATI WHEN THE TURKEYS DROPPED

If you know, you know…

Today was only about 60°F which is, for Florida, pretty chilly. Yet it was still high humidity so our walk was kinda damp and unpleasant. Looked very gray and wintery, though. Keely got some eggwhite with her breakfast since I was making deviled eggs for friendsgiving and, as anyone who has made this dish knows, there is always at least one egg that deconstructs itself during the peeling process. Keely lives for those moments, understandably!

I also ended up with an egg for breakfast since, after all, one must taste test the goods! 😀 However that’s it for breakfast, since the goal later today will be to eat a lot. I’m grateful to be here to celebrate with friends, and to enjoy their company and good food. There is a lot wrong with the world but that’s nothing new; today is for focusing on the good we have now, and the good that we can give others, and the good that we can put out into the world tomorrow.

Happy Thanksgiving, y’all.
