Yesterday was derailed by the fact that I had to go into the office to “supervise” the shuffling of six computers. Normally people don’t need to bring their computers with them when they move offices, but several of us have newer machines (and I have a customized rig) that we needed to get moved, and given the network set up, only IT could do the actual moving. Why did I need to be there, you ask? Mostly so that the staff getting their computers moved felt confident that things were being done correctly. I’m the emotional support tech support.
Anyway, that took up the whole morning and then I went grocery shopping and by that time my day was DONE.
Today I am running late, as I did not sleep well so took a nap after walking the dog and eating breakfast. Every day is a challenge, I guess!
We went around Lake Ella park as usual. There is a tiny tent city coming and going behind the restrooms, and a few of the other long-timers have taken to sleeping under the picnic tables. I think of all the people who fought for anti-homeless park “enhancements” and my blood boils. How craven and cruel and selfish do you have to be to enable and exacerbate such suffering right on our doorstep? That is a step up from just ignoring the problem; that is being actively malevolent.
In other news, the End Times Country Buffet is now just piles of quickly-disappearing rubble. The sign is still up, as of this morning, so I hope tomorrow when we’re out for a later, longer walk I can get a picture of the sign with the empty lot.
Since I did not take any photos this morning, here is a shot of Keely wallowing in the Lucky Goat parking lot earlier this week:
