This past week was exhausting in a lot of ways, so updates to Keely’s Way were the first to slide off the agenda! I apologize! …not that I think anyone was waiting breathlessly for news, but still. I’ve returned home, booted up the computer, and am back in business!
Keely did not join me in our travels, alas, so while I did walk every morning it was sadly dog-free. I probably freaked out the morning dog walkers where we stayed by staring at their puppies mournfully! Anyway, KimM and I were in Jacksonville for reasons related to the big, beautiful Mayo Clinic. What an institution! As I told a friend recently, it really shows how fantastic medical care could be for ALL of us if the American healthcare system weren’t a dystopian capitalistic hell-scape. 10/10 would recommend!
Due to the nature of our trip, there wasn’t much beach-going or fun adventures, but we did get out to a very beach-y dinner+drinks at Joe’s Crab Shack, where we sat on the (slightly chilly) patio and watched the day end over big vats of seafood (crab and shrimp for her, fish and chips for me!). I took this photo there, and it’s an acme representation of the Atlantic beaches here in Florida:
