Another brilliantly foggy morning!
We slept in until 6 a.m., which was nice. It’s great to be able to “sleep until you wake up” which has not been my experience for, well, 90% of my adult life. There are a lot of criticisms I can make about my mother’s version of home schooling but letting bb!me sleep without any alarm clocks is NOT one of them. Most people talk about their teenage “glory days” with memories of parties or school sports teams or the theater crew or band but for me “glory days” is “not having to wake up at a certain time.” Lordy how I miss it.
Keely was on the hunt for the fox again. I can’t say exactly what the difference is in her mannerisms between her normal behavior and her tracking-a-fox behavior but it’s there in the intensity of her focus, I think. It’s the difference between “what is this interesting smell I must sniff thoroughly for several minutes” vs. “OH WRETCHED VILLAINY IS AFOOT! WE MUST FIND THIS VILE FIEND!!!!”
As if she would know what to do with said vile fiend if they were to ever meet, but that’s a problem for future!Keely, I suppose!
One interesting note is that the gazebo’s bright LED lights are out (the gazebo is actually in the shot above, toward the left of the photo, but it’s hard to make out). I noticed they had gone dark a few months ago, but figured they would be “fixed” soon by the city. If they were, then they have gone dark again. I’m pretty sure homeless people are unplugging them so they can use the gazebo as a shelter from the rain, for which I can only commend them for both finding ways to stay dry while also taking those eye-sore spotlights offline.
