I might say “I missed the bus” but it would be more accurate to say “the bus missed me.” It sped right by me while I was standing at the bus stop. I was so flabbergasted that I just stood there staring after it for a whole minute.
I then called StarMetro customer support and did my level best NOT to yell at the person on the phone, who was not in any way at fault. She was very nice and then looked at the bus map and told me my bus would be there in five minutes. I thought about that for a whole micro-second.
“Okay, so a bus will be here in five minutes? Tell me, do you also show another bus which is just about to pull into the downtown plaza right now? Because that is the bus that blew past me.”
She paused. “Oh. Yes, it’s pulling into the plaza right now.”
“So there is no bus in five minutes.”
“No ma’am.”
We both took that in for a moment.
“So, uh, would you like to file a complaint?”
Sighhhhh.
So that was my start to the morning, and I’m working on being zen about it but honestly I think I just need more coffee.
Anyway, our walk was uneventful, at least. It was a foggy morning and I liked this shot, but my phone camera had trouble capturing what I liked about it (the moody, creepy atmosphere) so I had to play with phone settings like I normally do not have to do, but I got it!
I will thrive on these minor successes!!!!! \o/
I should really start carrying a nice camera to use for this, but ugh, that just sounds like another few words for “make life more complicated” which I do not need to do right now. At least someone else made the coffee at work this morning so I didn’t have to wait for it!
