dawn at Lake Ella

2/11/2022 – Friday

Yes yes, I did sleep in this morning! Keely and I did not get out for our walk until after 7:30 am! In fact the sun was well into sunrise by that time so I wrestled Keely into holding still and not looking away from the camera for a a hot second to take this photo of my golden girl:

She really, really LOATHES getting her photograph taken, which is endlessly fascinating to me because she’s a dog and therefore I’m fairly sure does not understand what “photographs” are on an intellectual level. She just does not appreciate anything being pointed at her, even if it’s just a weird rectangular thing of mysterious purpose (my phone). I should probably start treat-training her for it if I’m ever going to get a really good pic of her.

In other news, my friend Gina suggested having a countdown clock to my last day on the job in order to boost my morale about still being stuck there, so I’ve found an app for that and got it set up. As I’m writing this, it is 19 days, 20 hours, and 45 minutes until the very start of my very last day at OAS.

I do feel bad about what I’m leaving behind, although it is no way my fault. There are still good people there, though, who are having to deal with that whole mess. This includes our new director, who seems to be a good person. I just have to keep reminding myself that I have no power to correct the situation. Honestly no one does, until staff actually form a union.
