dawn at Lake Ella

2/9/2022 – Wednesday

It’s very frustrating to not be on schedule with this blog, but on the other hand, it’s very frustrating to still be coming into this office at all. I waffle back and forth between chastising myself for making excuses and being generous with myself for having good reasons to be tired at 9 am in the morning. *sigh* That honestly feels like my primary struggle in life, to be honest.

My fingers have not warmed up since I had to dig some nasty old something out of Keely’s mouth at 5:30 am when it was 33°F degrees out. She was feeling frisky, startling the ducks, and sticking her nose into every bush, whereupon she grabbed something to chomp on before I could pull her back.

(┬┬﹏┬┬)

Dogs are wonderful and amazing and also disgusting! But I guess the same can be said of humans, so…

Today’s photo is from the weekend. Keely took us a bit off our usual weekend jaunt, taking us over near Lafayette Park next to Thomasville Road. Since we were there and it was late enough to be sunny out, I decided we would hike through it. I love this little urban nature-scape, and especially in winter when the weather is not oppressive. I saw this one oak tree and just really liked it for no valid reason, but as I am clearly now a full-fledged Amateur Photographer™, you must suffer my pretense:

Trees are so ubiquitous that they are nearly invisible in our day-to-day lives, but this one, from this angle, looks very much like a living thing, stretching all its arms up to the sky. Both creepy and majestic, as I suppose nature as a whole is in general.
