Today marks the start of the Lunar New Year for many Asian countries — in China particularly this is a huge celebration, and so all my c-drama twitter moots are posting a never-ending stream of vids, art, pictures, and gifs. They feature beautiful, talented actors/singers, fictional characters, and a bunch of delicious food. Is there a better way to start a year, much less a Friday? I don’t think so!
Still and all, going outside was a tease for summer: damp, warm, and muggy. Fog layered the whole area (and there is rain expected later, for the entire weekend), which in the pre-dawn morning gave everything a art-house movie vibe.
Keely is recovering well, and took the whole walk around Lake Ella just fine, although she did stop a lot. I’m having to keep a very close eye on her as we do not want a repeat of summer 2019 with her immune system crashing, a real danger with the surgery and meds. I think she will be fine but I’m oddly grateful to this pandemic era for, at least, giving me the flexibility to stay home and keep an eye on her. In the midst of tragedy, there is a light in the tunnel, yada yada…
She’s still rather pissed off at me, though. Especially since I am keeping her beloved treats away (under doctor’s orders, since she is not allowed chewy or crunchy treats/food for two weeks in order for her gums to heal properly). She forgets and begs for attention, then remembers and walks away in a huff…it would be heartbreaking if she weren’t so damn adorable!
I’m trying to keep posting this with a photograph every day, but not all mornings are photo worthy. Instead, have this shot I took a couple of nights ago. There is something I find so alluring about empty streets…photos like this really inspire the urge in me to pick up painting again…
