It was spectacularly cold this morning, a late-spring winter hitting use pretty hard. I know, 33°F isn’t terrible compared to a lot of other places, but we are in late March! We’re used to 80°F+ from here on out. Admittedly I’m not looking forward to summer, not at all! But this was a little too much chill even for me!
Keely, of course, loved it.
As a show of just how out-of-sync things are down here, this is photo taken yesterday afternoon. Note the flowers in bloom. As in, “spring showers bring May flowers” but in MARCH. What the heck. (This is the porch at the Hawthorn Bistro)
Even Burr Season has started early. I usually don’t have to pluck burrs out of Keely’s paws until well into April, but no, her cotton-fur has been picking up the damn things for days now. She’s getting skittish about walking on grass again, and I can’t blame her, those things are pokey! Especially when you are trying to tug them off a furry dog with your gloves on and end up with burr-y gloves! Can’t win for losin’…
