I slept in very late today, which Keely was very generous to allow. She was not feeling to good herself, I don’t think. Hazards of old age for the both of us, I suspect!
As I walked her up toward Los Robles subdivision I saw the morning sun on this amalgamation of utility wires. Longtime readers know I have a fascination with utility poles like this:
They are so representative of “20th century civilization” and yet are somewhat mysterious and odd — what are these wires for, where do they come from, where do they go? Some of those answers are fairly obvious (some of these wires go to Midtown Caboose diner on the corner of Meridian and 7th) but in the bigger realm, the energy and transmissions they carry are endless…wires upon wires, humanity writ large over metal and rubber and plastic, conductive and insulated.
