I actually sat down at my desk a little before 9:00 am, but mostly goofed off on social media for a bit before settling down to edit today’s photo and write this post. It’s now 10:30 am, so I suppose I’m still on track!
We got out around 7:00 am for our walk, and it was very nice out. Almost 60°F and a bit balmy — I can tell the humidity is lurking, ready to smack us into summer like a mack truck — and just-barely sunny. The trees are still mostly leaf-less, even if we never completely lose the green, but I’m seeing a few sprouts here and there, bright and pushy.
Florida is all about plant growth, and here is a good example of it. This is the growth over an old lamp-post in the Lucky Goat parking lot, facing down on the Midtown Crossfit (formerly Purdue’s Automotive). You’d have to rip up a good portion of the parking lot to take it out by this point, and I’m fairly certain that it would fight back:
The good news is that I can already feel the difference in my stress and anxiety levels knowing that I do not have to go to That Office again tomorrow. Ever since we went back to being in the office full time last August (wtf, for real), Sundays have been an exercise in fighting off anxiety attacks and headaches. The stress of being “on my own” is real, mind you, but it’s just very different. I’ll have to pick that difference apart someday, but for now I would describe it as being free of carrying a heavy weight.
