dawn at Lake Ella

3/9/2022 – Wednesday starting slow

I did something foolish yesterday evening, resulting in a very disrupted night due to GERD. *cries* As a result, after walking Keely, I crawled back into bed for a couple of hours of blissfully-pain-free rest.

I loathe the lost time but on the other hand, the benefit of being my own boss is allowing myself time to recover from something like that and not stress about it! I’m not “running late” or “calling out” and feeling guilty. I have the whole day to catch up if I want to, or I can simply continue to take it easy. After all, I have on my calendar a lunch date with a friend I have not seen in a while, and I’m looking forward to that!

The walk could not be delayed, though — as much as I wanted to just roll over and sleep, Keely let me know she was ready, I suppose because she could tell rain was incoming. As it was, getting out a bit after 7:00 am, we were drizzled on a little bit. As I write this now, the rain has settled in for the day, even if it is not storming too hard. Gray and drizzly with a few gusty winds. The downside? HUMIDITY. Already back to haunt us like a moist, sticky ghost. Ugh.

I did like the “apocalyptic” look of this old lamp and sign by Lake Ella, on the eastern side. This is about how green it gets in Florida during “winter”, water included!

sign saying the route is sixth-tenths of a mile
