dawn at Lake Ella

3/30/2020 – Monday

It is weird to try and judge what is going on in the world around me when traffic and business is a flat line — just as busy at 6 am as at 6 pm. While Circle K on the corner of 7th and Monroe remains, as always, a bustling hub of activity, everything else is in stasis or close to it. I saw as many cars this morning on the roads as I did on last night’s walk.

This morning there was one guy at the bus stop, a older white man who, I am pretty sure, works at FSU, and who I thought was a lawyer? I dunno. Not sure why he would be going in. But I cannot say what was the university might deem “essential personnel” in this most bizarre of timelines. Who knows.

The park was quiet, aside from the Groundskeeper air-blowing leaves around the commons and parking lots. Not as many people out as on the weekend mornings. One regular, and a couple of joggers.

I decided to try and capture what it is about the LED lamps that stand out, and I think I got it with this photo.

It has not been color corrected at all, just sharpened, and you can clearly see the orange-yellow light in the background of the old incandescent bulbs compared to the vivid white glare of the LED lamp. It’s not ugly to my mind but creates a drastically different atmosphere. Still only five set around the pond.

Also, did not notice any new plague signs on business doors.
