dawn at Lake Ella

4/14/2021 – Wednesday

Writing this in a rush to beat the 11 am deadline for the mailout — I overslept, had to get to the grocery store before heading into the office, and then got distracted by some work I needed to get done ASAP, so this just got scuttled for a bit.

That said, my walk with Keely was leisurely, despite it all. It was just chilly enough to be comfortable and keep the mosquitoes down, as that season is upon us again. Burrs on Keely’s paws and mosquitoes on my skin is how I know it’s April. 🙁

At least it was cooler outside then in. My A/C keeps fritzing out as I think there is a leak in it somewhere. My landlord’s fix-it guy has been by three times to re-charge the freon in the past six months, so clearly there is a problem, but my landlord is not one who likes to spend money on his properties so who knows how long this “recharge, run down, sweat it out until it’s recharged” game will continue. I almost wish the whole thing would just go CLUNK so it could get properly repaired. Ahhhh…one thing about being a renter is being caught in the whims of your landlord. There is no win/win here!

Mostly I feel bad because Keely is at home in a sweltering house. I made sure she had a full water bowl, though, and kept all the blinds closed, but it’s not the same as me being home to have the fans on.

I guess I can’t avoid emailing the landlord anymore. Wish me luck.
