dawn at Lake Ella

4/21/2022 – Thursday

Another slow morning. Yesterday…was not a good day for me, mentally. Anxiety swamped me as it sometimes does, and so I did not get any fiction writing done or much else, honestly. Installed Dragon Naturally Speaking 15 as part of my dictation experiment, and that was about it. You know it’s a bad day when you have potato chips for lunch.

Today I’m feeling better, though. Our morning walk was super nice, once again through Los Robles as I was trying to keep away from traffic noises while I dictate into my recorder. I once again forgot to take a photo, so here is one of my shadow that I think is kind of neat, which I took at Lake Ella last week:

my long shadow

The old Shell corner-store at 7th & Thomasville, the one going through the half-assed renovations, has a sign up now that I keep meaning to take a photograph of and keep forgetting to do. It is a temp sign that says “Farm Stores” which, when I looked it up, proves to be…interesting: “Farm Stores provides a unique neighborhood experience. A combination of grocery store, bakery and restaurant, we give you the freshest products in the most convenient manner: the equivalent of a drive-thru supermarket express lane.”

Which, honestly, would be GREAT for me. The local Circle-K is notoriously terrible at keeping anything like actual groceries in stock (even worse since the pandemic hit) and while Publix is only a 15 min. walk away, that’s more of a chore than I want to make when I just need some basic groceries. So, I’m very curious how this is going to go.

Keely has her vet appointment tomorrow, so I’ll be giving her a both later, poor thing!
