It was a very pleasant 63°F when we headed out around 7:00 am. Keely was happy to go her usual route around Lake Ella, and there were few people out, so it was a nice walk. I listened to Seth Godin’s latest podcast, which is always interesting brain food, and then worked on my fiction dictation with my wee little digital recorder.
All in all, a perfect kind of morning.
I did not take any photos but I have this pic I took earlier this week in Los Robles. Another entry in my ongoing “creepy tree fixation,” and I call this one the Headless Not-Horseman:
At some point the main trunk got cracked (high winds) or zapped (lightning), which I assume because it is not a clean cut the way a trimming would be. So now it’s arms are reaching out, reaching out…mwhaahaha…
No updates of late on businesses in midtown; neither the Black Radish or Lemon & Thyme have opened, and progress at the corner Farm Store seems to have stalled with the painting of parking spaces out front. Nothing new has moved into the Cottages, either. This week is FSU graduation, and I suspect most places are planning to open/make changes after that since it would be folly to try anything new with the town inundated with people from all over.
