dawn at Lake Ella

4/5/2022 – Tuesday

We were out of the house at 6:15 am and I am as shocked as you are.

I have no idea why I woke up around 5:45 am, but I did, and it was one of those awakenings where it is super obvious to all involved that there will be NO falling back to sleep, alas. Keely was happy about it, anyway! Off we went for a pre-dawn walk around Lake Ella, where the cottages maintenance guy was still moving leaves around. Truly a mystery, but I suppose it keeps him busy?

This sign has appeared at the corner near the coffeeshop-that-shall-not-be-named, and I had to laugh. Apparently our mischievous sign making comedian is back at it!

I’ve noticed some work going on around LC Brunson’s café, painting and more stock coming in. Other than that, not much else going on with the cottages. All the cottages are occupied now, the addition of the Sharing Tree in the old dancewear store. I do wonder how the charcuterie shop is doing, as well as the old watchmaker shop (it’s next to the barber shop, and I wonder how he stays open, honestly, but there he is, decade after decade).

Today is another busy day for me, and I am once again trying to hit the 3k word count on my stories. It’s getting easier and, more importantly, becoming fun to write again. I’ve missed that piece.
