dawn at Lake Ella

5/16/2022 – Monday

Here we are again, Monday! I’m feeling a little like a working drone, since I’ve moved up our wake up time by an hour in order to get out for our morning walk by 6:00 am…not quite successful, as it took Keely hustling me around for a bit until I was ready, which was at about at 6:20 am or so. I’m trying, Keely-boo!!!!

So. Mood:

This morning, Keely decided to throw off routine and headed for Los Robles. Maybe she was on the hunt for the fox? Maybe. She was definitely scenting something! But it’s pretty in the morning, and aside from a few people heading to work, not busy. Who am I to say no? So that’s where we went.

It struck me as we crossed Meridian St. that I talk about Los Robles a lot but some readers may not have any idea what it is. Built in the 1920s, the subdivision was originally on the “outskirts” of the city proper, two miles or so north of downtown, but is now in the heart of Midtown which gives you an idea of sprawl. This is the old entrance to it, which is now an historic landmark:

The houses are a pot luck of styles and eras, some rather palatial and others bog standard ranch style homes from the ’60s. It has a park in the middle which is pretty, and overall is a great location for dog walking, given how it is protected from the main thoroughfares.
