dawn at Lake Ella

5/20/2022 – Friday

It’s Friday, the end of a low-energy week for me. I should expect it by now – every time I finish writing a novel, I tend to withdraw creatively for a bit, along with feeling overwhelmed. I do have a lot of things “in process”, a lot of plates twirling on poles, and sometimes I just want to sit facing a corner and stare at the wall…

That said, I do feel like I’m starting to pull out of it; time to focus on outlining and dictation! Wheeee!

Managed to get out the door just after 6:00 am, and caught this photo. Really loved the “pink” of the dawn, here…storms incoming later today, according to reports, so I guess the old saw holds true:

pink sky over lake ella

It was a quiet morning at Lake Ella, over all. Being out earlier means I am blessed by bats, who were out doing their last-minute bug catching run before the sun was truly up. Still, it was heavy with 90% humidity, and both the dog and I were damp by the time we got home just from ambient water sticking to us.

As Poppa used to say: Gonna be a scorcher.
