Most know I’m not too superstitious, but one thing I tend to put faith in is my ability to pre-judge how bad hurricane season is going to be, and folks, I think we’re in for a doozy this year.
(bookmarking this so I can come back to it in September to post-judge myself…)
Maybe its something about the barometer or the humidity or, hell, just a lifetime spent in this wretched state, I don’t know. But even if Florida gets spared I suspect there will be some heavy hitters swinging across the southeast USA. I mean, it’s 2022, that would be very on point. *waves hands around*
In other news, I was also right about the demise of Wild Cajun Crabhouse, which is now coming back as a pool bar. I love playing pool even though I’m terrible at it, so I might walk over and check it out when it launches:
It seems that little corner spot in that strip mall is cursed, though. This is about the 5th establishment that’s tried to make a go at it, and maybe they were all owned by the same company, but either way nothing has stuck. I honestly thought the crabhouse was doing well, but it is true enough that in the restaurant industry having a lot of customers does not equate to profit.
