dawn at Lake Ella

6/24/2022 – Friday

Another blistering hot day in the works, same as yesterday, but there is a promise of rain later. Not sure how helpful that will be overall, even if it’s bringing slightly cooler weather with it, but let me tell you that the grass here in town is all turning dull green and yellow/brown, which I’ve not seen it do in quite this way in a very long time.

But, fortunately, we were out right at 6:00 am, so we did not have to fight the sun. Keely was feeling social so we stopped more than a few times to let a few of the homeless folk spoil her with pets. Most of them love her, and she loves the attention. One even decided to scare off the Canada Geese hoarding the sidewalk so we could walk through (Keely is very visibly wary of the birds, like the smart girl she is!).

This photo, though, is from the Los Robles subdivision. Once again, a study on my obsession with the interaction of utility lines and trees:

tree limbs and utility lines

I’ve backed off a little on using the camera because it is frustrating when I don’t know what I’m doing. I’ve got some decent theoretical knowledge about photography but I think I need to sit down and do some basic exercises with the different settings to really grok it.
