dawn at Lake Ella

6/29/2022 – Wednesday

Meanwhile, back at the ranch…

sign: a gun has more rights than a girl in 2022

That was stuck on a lamp post at Lake Ella, for context.

It’s been a tough week…year? Decade? Dunno. It’s not just politics; it’s climate change, it’s pandemic, it’s friends who have suffered tragic losses across the board along with health issues and financial hits. This is not the worst timeline but, whew, it’s not even in the top 100. I’m doing okay, in the meantime. I have several friends who are willing to take me in if my experiment in self-sufficiency hits the skids, and my health is holding steady, even if age and lack of exercise are taking a toll. I might be getting a treadmill desk soon, which will be a helluva challenge for me but ultimately, I think, necessary.

In the meantime I keep walking Keely, trying to beat the heat and make sure she doesn’t overheat. The temps have been a bit lower than last week, it was only 73°F this morning when we headed out around 6:00 am. There are storms due today which will at least tamp down the worst of things for a little bit.
