I’m walking out the door like a cyborg these days: phone, earbuds, camera, digital recorder, lavalier mic. Plus doggo, plus cane (aka defensive weapon against geese), plus sun hat…it’s an expedition! That said, Keely is very impatient while I gear up, and is not sympathetic to my need to get everything in place before starting off. 😒
The camera wrangling is still in the preliminary stages for me. I forget it half the time, then see a great photo option and think, darn! I mean, I do have my phone, which is a Pixel 5a so has a decent camera, which you know because most of the photos on this blog so far were taken with it. Still, I do see the difference myself. The phone would not have gotten this shot exactly the way I wanted:
Yes, that’s the base of a street light pole on Monroe Street. I’m fascinated by the wear and tear on it, from the scrapes and that bright white spot of spray paint to the missing decorative cover for the bolt. The cracked concrete. It’s all just so visually interesting to me!
I’m still using GIMP most of the time for editing as well, but I bought Affinity Photo based on recommendations, and also because it supports Photoshop plugins, so I’ll be trying that out here soon.
