My new bathroom etagere arrived yesterday, so this morning’s plan shifted from finishing re-organizing the Burial Mounds (my office/studio) to re-arranging the bathroom. It’s an over-the-toilet storage unit so I first have to dismantle the old one, which should not be hard as the pressboard for that is crumbling after *checks watch* ten years of service. Then I have to put the new one together and while I’m actually pretty good at assembling pre-cut furniture it will be quite the chore. Living alone is never as inconvenient as when trying to lug heavy stuff around.
But the good news is that it is Saturday so we slept in until nearly 7 am, and had a nice pleasant walk. Keely was very keen to go out until she hit the wall of humidity outside the door, and I fear it is going to be a trial of a summer for her unfortunately. She’s an old girl now and it’s starting to show. *cries*
In lieu of a photo I once again did not take during our walk, I am going to own bragging rights to my Great Tidy Up 2021 with a picture of my organized, dusted shelves and my beloved art print of a piece of digital art I had commissioned last year:
The figure in it is Mei Changsu from Nirvana in Fire, a Chinese drama from 2015 and objectively one of the best television shows in history. I get on my soapbox about it regularly on twitter, but alas most of my American friends are biased against Chinese dramas in general and refuse to watch it. That is a just such a tragedy. What an amazing, heartbreaking, brilliantly written and produced show. Wow. Brings me to tears just thinking about it! Anyway clearly I love Mei Changsu and he deserved a place of honor!
The drawback is that I hate those shelves. There is an unhappy story about my marriage and those shelves, but I have not had the money to replace them in all these years. I hope that changes this year. I’m eyeing the Billy shelves from IKEA. I’ll keep you posted…
