dawn at Lake Ella

6/8/2021 – Tuesday

I overslept again, for reasons I cannot figure. Fortunately Keely woke me up at 6:30 am so we made it out in plenty of time to walk and make coffee before I had to log in for work (I am writing this while on a short break). Of course it’s not an option tomorrow when I have to be on-site by 8 am, alas. Wake up, brain! Wakey wakey!

The coffee helps. I had just enough time to enjoy the first few sips at my kitchen table, with the following set up:

coffee, thermos, and china creamer

I make a pot and pour a cup then fill up the thermos, which lasts me all morning. The creamer, though! Isn’t it LOVELY?!?!? I really enjoy having a pretty creamer to pour from, despite the otherwise unsophisticated setting of my home in general. This one, though, is special as it was a gift from my dear friend Gina Edwards. I love these mementos of friendship. <3

The cup is a special edition featuring fanart of Nirvana in Fire‘s Mei Changsu. I luf him.

As for our morning walk, Keely decided rather firmly that we were not going to the park. Normally I don’t let her take lead during weekday walks — she’ll walk for hours if given the chance — but she was adamant! So I followed along as she wandered up to Thomasville Rd., turned south, and took us down around the Midtown Plaza over to 3rd Ave. I finally had to put on the brakes and turn towards home, or risk being late for work. Not sure what got into her but I have found that when she really does set her mind to something, which is not often to be honest, it’s best to let her do her thing.
