dawn at Lake Ella

7/19/2021 – Monday

I have not been feeling 100% since the food poisoning Thursday night/Friday morning, so I skipped updating yesterday and just lounged around like a lazy bug. I always feel guilty taking a day off from everything but on the other hand, my body needed to destress and rest. Alas, the “plain” food I was eating, which usually help, were not helpful (toast, yogurt, eggs). I continue to wonder if the norovirus from February, 2020 has messed up my gastrointestinal track for good. After all, I still can’t eat rice in anything more than minute quantities.

Which all points to the need to return to keto, which my body and brain thrives on. Like any elimination diet, it’s not easy to maintain, and so I kick my feet like a brat and resist doing it. *sigh* In any case I’m fasting today, just to “reset”, and drinking lots of tea and water. We’ll see what tomorrow brings.

Got out at 5 am and the park was nominally busy for that hour, with three regulars and two new people walking their dogs. The last was weird, I almost never encounter people walking their dogs that early!

Keely was not please to be out, honestly, since it rained heavily yesterday evening and, because the humidity is a terrible 97%, nothing dried out overnight. Everything was wet and puddles were everywhere, so she kept curbside and speed-walked for home once she was done with business.

Today’s photo is from the weekend, and is just an oddity of urban life: a potted plan stuck out on the sidewalk all alone, for no apparent reason:

Was it dumped there? Did someone drag it there in hopes of beautification? I’m entirely unsure. We’ll see if it is still around next weekend!
