Veryyyyy slow start to the morning as I was hit with a severe headache around 5:00 am. It’s just super extra unfair when your body wakes you up before your alarms do, isn’t it? And for a headache! Double unfair!
So I took some aspirin and went back to bed to just…well, wallow in pain, mostly. Keely had enough of waiting by 7:00 am and flopped on me, which did work in getting me moving. At this point the headache is a shadow of its former self but I’m being super cautious.
I noted this on FB yesterday as it popped up with a reminder, but it was the three year anniversary of Keely coming home from the veterinary specialists clinic after her near death experience. It was a total autoimmune collapse that her vet thinks was probably due to a tick bite, given that she’s never had a similar reaction before or since. The only reason I even took her in for a checkup was that she had blood in her urine, so I thought it was a UTI or something, given that she gave no other indication that she felt poorly. None!
Former street dog, on her death bed: “This is fine, I’ve had worse!”
Is my dog the reincarnation of Wei Wuxian? I HAVE MY SUSPICIONS!
But yeah, after $5k in vet bills and several anxiety attacks for me, she came home alive and has remained so. I know, as most pet owners know, that I’ll loose her sooner rather than later, but I’m so very grateful that I got these extra years with her!
Here is a photo one of the vet techs took for me of Keely looking miserable at the clinic when she was there — not pictured is the IV in her leg! She’s gotten so much more gray over the past three years, wow.
