dawn at Lake Ella

7/20/2020 – Monday

I…forgot to post? This weekend? Simply forgot, completely, blank slate. I wasn’t procrastinating or being obstinate I just forgot. *scratches head* Hm. What I get for not checking my tasks list I guess.

The flip side is that I was exhausted all weekend, for no valid reason I can tell. I took hours-long naps both days, and still went to bed early.

Bodies. WhatEVER.

Today I felt fully awake when the alarms went off, though, so maybe that’s passed? I hope? We got out for our walk a little before 6 am — still dark, just the barest hints of dawn’s blush like watercolors in the sky. Lots of trees and bushes doing the second big bloom, right on schedule in mid-July. Which might explain why my sinuses are acting up again, now that I think about it.

Florida: a never ending cycle of nasal drainage.

It’s been deadly for temperatures, lately, and this morning was in the mid-70s°F even without the sun blazing down. Last night our evening walk was at 7 pm and it was bright and oppressive, the heat heavy on us both.

Today’s photograph was taken yesterday, a late-season brood of ducklings. I am obviously not much of a “nature photographer” but I thought they were cute all clustered around their mom.

Today is Monday, and it is back to work for me. I have a dermatologist appointment later today, a regular check up, nothing serious, but I do not look forward to riding the bus.

Honestly I never look forward to it but I’ve never considered it as much of a risk to my life as I do now.

2020 is all about the drama.
