Today’s photo is mostly as-is, only a slight sharpening to make it clearer, but it very accurately portrays the brilliant sunrise that was happening going on 7 am.
Some days, Florida lives up to the hype.
It was taken just outfront the Manor @ Midtown, where evidence of the shut downs of Fifth & Thomas, Finnegan’s Wake, Fire Betty’s, and The Fox and the Stag is becoming more apparent. I also noticed when we got over to Monroe that the granite/marble installation business that took over one of the old auto mechanic shops for about a year or so is gone as well. That could be due to anything, of course, but it makes me wonder if things like housing renovations are in decline right now. I would not be surprised.
Traffic, though, was steady if sparse…more like a pre-pandemic Saturday morning than I’ve seen in a while. If you’ve seen the numbers for our state you might understand my continued despair.
Keely was panting a lot, even if the sun was not up entirely, but also kept taking turns to lengthen the walk. We went up to 3rd Ave but then all the way down to Publix plaza and back around, so it was a full hour hike. Once or twice she stalled and just stared around, which could mean she heard something or that she was not sure which way to go, but it was clear to me that she was enjoying being out.
There were not many people out walking, which is not unusual, but the long lonely mornings of lock-down are long gone.
At least, for now. Hashtag Florida. :/
