Today was one of those gray-blue pre-dawn mornings, where you aren’t sure if what is weighing you down is mist or fog. At least, until it turns light enough to see that the tree tops are shrouded. Everything simply felt muffled by the weather.
Keely was back to our usual route around the park, and giving me the side eye when I don’t let her wander into the street (why, dog, why? please do not be strolling in the street!). The Circle K was very busy for before-6 am, so I’m wondering if there is something going on? This is the last day of classes at FSU and usually summer graduation would be bringing a small surge in family and friends to watch people walk, but since it is all online that can’t be it.
And speaking of that, it seems our office is officially opening its doors again on August 17th. We’ll be doing mostly rotating staff, except for the ones who have to be on-site such as the testing supervisor and program assistant. I will be going in twice, maybe three times a week for the duration. Who knows how long.
Or, just as likely, who knows how short. Everyone expects another “shut down” causing us to all go remote at some point.
So it’s hard to take a leisurely morning walk and not consider all those factors in my life right now, even if I have zero control over them. I ended up listening to music very loudly in order to drown out my thoughts.
