dawn at Lake Ella

8/28/2022 – Sunday

Woke up feeling very awake, which is not something I’m used to. I’m not a morning person and usually it takes me a couple of hours before I feel fully present, but this morning apparently my brain was rarin’ to go! Which means we got out for our walk around 6:30 am. It’s getting far enough past the summer solstice that the sun is rising later, which imho is SUCH A BLESSING.

But despite it being pre-dawn when we left the house, it was still 98% humidity, which made the very reasonable 73°F temp feel completely miserable. By the time we got home my tee shirt was damp and Keely was hot footing it back into the A/C. She doesn’t know it but she’s getting a bath soon!!!!

We went the long route down Thomasville Rd. to 3rd Ave., and then up Duval to the Publix Plaza. On our way back through Lake Ella park I took this photo of the climbing tree:

People were already showing up in the park to do their walk-arounds, and there were plenty of dogs for Keely to be curious about. Ever since she was attacked a few years ago, I’m super careful letting her around other dogs, but fortunately everyone was being well behaved and leashed.
