An unusually late dinner (for me) with my friend KimM last night meant I did not stumble into bed until midnight. SHOCKER!!! The downside was me sleeping in until after 7:00am, which Keely allowed with far more graciousness than I deserve.
In return I let her pick the route, and she took the old favorite trek over to third avenue, where I spied this delightful visitor on the side of the old Masa building:
That wall is popular for tagging and I’m sure this will be painted over within a week or so, but it’s so cute I had to commemorate it!
Also, it looks like Lemon & Thyme is getting close to opening; they are hiring staff, which should be a challenge. Every eatery I know is short staffed and struggling to keep the staff they do have. I look forward to the grand opening!
In other news, the old Shell station at 7th & Thomasville that was going to be a Farms Store is, apparently, not? At least, the Farms Store sign is down. The interior continues to be half-renovated and filled mostly with beer in the coolers and boxes of coffee paraphernalia in the main area, but interestingly, the odd pink velvet stools have now been joined by odd pink chairs. I’ll try to grab a shot of them later today. So weird!!!!! What is going on there?!?!?!?
