dawn at Lake Ella

8/17/2020 – Monday

It was an old-school, pre-pandemic style Monday for me since I have to go to work in order to get any actual work done, since my computer died on me. That means Keely and I were out of the house between 5:30 and 6 am, and while it remains thick with humidity it was a calm and dark morning. I can almost tell the days are getting blessedly shorter again!

Nothing too dramatic to note, although I did see lights on in the Golden Corral which is more life there than I’ve seen since April when it shut down for good (it had tried doing the take-out route but understandably that was not successful).

As I walked around I saw the electric scooters scattered all around and I started thinking about getting one for myself — no way am I touching common/community ones, but if I could get a decent one for less than $500 I might spare myself riding on the bus too and from work. Anything to reduce exposure, now that I will have to come into the office regularly again (and daily, until my new computer shows up, which I am hoping it does before the end of the month. *crosses fingers*)

Keely was slow off the draw and seemed to be tracking or following a particularly alluring scent that kept her pulling me off the sidewalk to muck about in the grass and gravel. Not a bad thing since there was a fair bit of activity with walkers, some of whom have become early morning regulars over the summer.

I guess she’s going to have to get used to me going into work more regularly as well.
