dawn at Lake Ella

8/19/2020 – Wednesday

It was a damp walk due to the rains earlier — I was woken up an hour early (boo!) by lightning and thunder, which honestly does not happen a lot to me as I tend to sleep very deeply. So either my anxiety is kicking in or it was obnoxiously loud weather or both.

Keely was of course very not impressed by all the water over everything, which washed out all the interesting scents and also made her feetsies wet. She did her usual rainy weather stunt and kept to the outside of the sidewalk around the park the whole way.

Then, when we got home, after eating her breakfast she went and moped in her dog bed in my studio instead of joining me on my bed for cuddles while I drank coffee. Your displeasure is noted, madam!!!!

The anti-homeless measures are effective, since with the gazebos gone, there was no place for them to shelter from the storms. So, the whole park was empty except for us and an early morning jogger.

The “law and order” folks get what they want, and the homeless get left out in the rain. Again. What this says about us as a society is damning, but ahhhh you are probably tired of me harping on that.

In other news, my old computer is truly dead and being cannibalized for parts and/or recycled by Mary at Bruner’s Computers (whom I recommend highly for computer needs/repairs!). Meanwhile my new Dell XPS is on it’s way and should be here on Monday or Tuesday, if all goes well (no guarantees, these days). While I look forward to my shiny new rig, I do not look forward to transitioning to it. I have most files backed up but like a fool had not backed up in a while, so I know I lost some things. Ahhh. By now you’d think I’d know better!
