A very slow morning after a very laid-back rest day yesterday. I think maybe the lethargy of the COVID booster on Wednesday is slow to dissipate? Just feels like I was a bit more tired on Friday and Saturday than I was expecting. Although Friday night was rough, sleep-wise, as I woke up around 3:00 am and could not fall back asleep. Woe! But then I eventually went back to bed later that morning and slept half the day! Win!
Anyway, we were out late at around 8:00 am and the sun was already rising strong, but thankfully the temp was only 70°F. It was a pleasant walk up Thomasville to 3rd and then back up Duval to 7th…we both could have kept going, but the sunlight was starting to get a bit fierce so I cut it short. Along the way I passed the old flower shop (that became a rug store for a while but now is…storage?) at Monroe & 5th, and saw “do good” in the old fading mural:
I have walked by this exact spot for, literally, 10+ years at this point and never noticed that before!
Full disclosure: I edited the photo to make it a bit clearer, as the paint has honestly faded pretty badly by this point. Which, to be fair, is actually not as much as it could given that the mural is probably 20+ years old.
