Yesterday was a scattershot day, work-wise, so I was glad to end it and go to bed early to read fanfic and sleep. The triumph of adulting!
Although perhaps this meme is more in tune with my moods of late:
In any case, the other good news is that I finally got my daylight alarm clock working, which for obscure technical reasons had not been holding alarm times. It’s a wireless smart alarm, and apparently what I had needed to do all along was upgrade my internet connection. *sighhhh*
I bring this up because I am NOT a morning person, and my executive dysfunction historically makes me very slow to progress through any morning routine, which is why I try to wake up at 5 am in order to be at work by 8 am.
Most of my life I have had to use two or three alarms in the morning, set in 15 minute progressive increments apart, to roust me out of the bed at all. I got this daylight alarm clock with the thought that if maybe it could simulate the rising-sun affect of morning, it might help my brain turn on fully.
Spoiler: it absolutely does!
I love technology!
So it went off and I got to lay in bed with a slowly brightening light as my brain dialed back into “awake” and my dog cuddled with me and it was marvelous. While yesterday was stressful and today is another workday, I took Keely for our morning walk with a nice, pleasant vibe in my soul.
It was, though, another dank and humid morning, and I am looking forward to both the rainstorms today (I am only happy when it rains) and the cold front they are bringing in!
