It’s officially a workday again, although hard to tell — slept in until 5:30! Then out the door by 6 am, which Keely was very keen on…once I woke her lazy ass up with aggressive cuddles and scratchings. She is NOT a morning dog, this pupper of mine, and is now in fact back in bed, snoring.
This morning was foggy, but no, actually more misty. I cannot say there is a technical difference, but to me fog is a still, placid atmosphere, almost like a blurry lens has been set down over the world. Mist on the other hand has substance, it is the soft side of rain, and if you look up at the lamp lights you can see mist flowing on the wind, river-like currents carried by air.
I’m wearing my face masks every time I go out, because the pollen is sludge in my lungs and acid in my sinuses. Given the pandemic, I’m trying to keep my respiratory system as on point as I can. We will all be infected by covid19 eventually, but the healthier we can stay the better our chances of not falling ill with it.
Interestingly, the regulars were not there but I counted at least five other people out exercising; I might have missed Have a Nice Day! guy as he is generally done by 5:30 am at the latest. Ah, Duck Dude was there, I forgot — he carries a walking stick and a bag of food for the ducks, not bread but I assume some kind of bird feed, and they all recognize him with a great deal of squawking.
Everyone else I assume are people who are probably not used to being shut in and are looking for new ways to be out of the house. We’ll see how long they last…if we’re not all sheltering in place before the week is out, that is.
