I thought we were done with “cold” snaps but the rain yesterday apparently brought in cooler weather — an eternally relative concept, at it was 62°F. But the rain meant that it was barely humid, and the pollen had taken another beating.
I forgot my face mask for some reason, and it honestly felt weird to be outside without it.
(I wore it to the store yesterday, and for the first time I saw other people wearing masks there too. It has been a week since I went to the store, so people may have been wearing them the whole time, but it’s the first I noticed it. Most of them were homemade or simply bandannas. I also remembered how hellish face masks are when it is hot, at it was 90°F degrees. Gonna be a long summer for all of us.)
Even at 6:30 am there were not many people out — the white guys duo and a couple of joggers, and me. Keely was slow moving, I think in protest to how I basically ran her through her morning walk yesterday. She stopped to smell everything ahahaha. No less than I deserve.
As it always is when the temperature drops, it was pretty. The sky had a few clouds but the air was a bit crisper and the wet sheen from the rain made all the colors pop. They say humidity is invisible but I argue it definitely affects visibility, making everything look like it’s behind a blurry lens. I prefer sharp lines, I always have. Perhaps a reflection of my desire for certainty in life, which maybe is why the joke is that I still live in Florida.
[I did have a photo to share but it’s not uploading to google photos from my phone and I cannot be bothered to wring it out of the ether, so maybe tomorrow I’ll attach it!]
