An absolutely stunning Florida morning at 7 am, this is why we get the snowbirds. My father used to call this a “Chamber of Commerce” day because these are the shots that go on postcards. I don’t love living in Florida but sometimes, it sure is pretty.
With the storms of the past week pushing all the brown to the ground, the trees look very green and bright, new growth almost garish amongst the older, hardier leaves.
More Canada geese goslings, a couple of brouds have hatched it seems, so I think we have four separate family groups. Not that we get too close, because those things are mean and Keely keeps well away from them. If they are on the sidewalk, Keely is yanking me around trees and shrubbery like we’re cat burglers trying to find an escape route.
While I think traffic has picked up over the past week in the mornings (whyyyyy) it is hardly much of a rush hour, and no, it’s not a “new normal” it is still abnormal and makes me feel like it’s secretly Saturday morning and not midweek.
We went slowly along our usual route, given that I do not have work (vaycay!) and was not feeling rushed. Keely was not quite up to prancing speed, mostly plodding along and checking every bush and trash can twice. There were a few more people circling the park than I’m used to but I think I’m starting to recognize the regulars, who tend to be paired up in a buddy system.
And this, I realized, is the current state of my f2f human interaction these days!
