I almost wrote “Tuesday” in the title because what is time, anymore?
Tired of rushing through morning I went to bed by 9 pm last night, so Keely and I were up and about at 5:30 am. We were both shuffling like the old ladies we are, but moving nonetheless.
It is still very nice in the mornings, and while the mosquitoes are back (not that they ever truly leave, but in Florida it’s all about the percentages) it was cool out. Sunrise is happening earlier so we got to see the lovely sky lighten a bit by the end of it.
I noticed that there were a lot the rental scooters around, which in turn made me realize I had not seen them for a while, at least not in bulk. Had they cut back on the number of them available and now that we are (theoretically) re-opening they are putting more out again? Possibly.
They sit like clunky herds of industrial horses, braced against the weather. I wonder who will use them, given that you have to put your hands on the handlebars. Just another transmission vector, in my opinion. But we see every day that there is a subset of people who are fine with that, and those who even wallow in it.
I was feeling creative and saw this cluster of roots in the morning sun — they are worn smooth by people walking over them.
